Sakura Fujiwara is a Japanese singer-songwriter and actress whose music has been featured in TV shows and films.
∙ Her father gave her a guitar when she was 10, and she absorbed his love of The Beatles and other rock bands, as well as folk and soul music.
∙ “Just One Girl”—from her debut EP, À la carte—was chosen as the featured song for the 2015 Japanese TV teen drama Gakkō no Kaidan.
∙ Fujiwara’s hit debut single, “Soup,” was used as the theme for the 2016 miniseries Love Song, in which she costarred with pop star Masaharu Fukuyama.
∙ Cowritten with her friends and labelmates Leo Ieiri and Sakurako Ohara for a joint concert, “Koinohajimari” topped Japanese digital sales charts in 2017.
∙ She wrote “Just the Way We Are” for a 2017 short film by manga artist Eisaku Kubonouchi, which was used to promote the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
∙ “The Moon”—from her 2018 EP, green—was selected as the ending theme for the anime film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion II – Transgression.
