Raised on the skyscraping vocals of Whitney, Mariah, and Amy Winehouse, Saint Harison distills widescreen emotions into intimate R&B confessions. Born and raised in Southampton, England, the Apple Music Up Next artist spent his childhood singing as much as possible, training his voice in the comforts of his bedroom before joining a performing arts school and studying musical theater. “I planned to attend a drama school afterward, but it just wasn't my scene. I just love writing and making my own music too much to ever put it aside,” he told Apple Music. During a difficult time while finding shelter at a women’s center with his mom, hearing Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” gave him the inspiration to start writing. With such musical icons as his foundation, Harison began to find his own voice—tender and elegant as a singer, raw and candid as a writer. For his grand introduction, 2023’s lost a friend EP, the singer-songwriter is as vulnerable as he would be alone in his room, spilling out soul-stirring meditations on relationships with others and, most importantly, himself. “I always wanted to be an icon,” he shared. “I really want to be that artist for people … to say things that people don’t know how to articulate.”
