Artist Biography
Rapper S1mba blew up with his upbeat 2019 Afroswing single “Rover,” a viral smash that spawned several remixes.
• Born in Zimbabwe, S1mba moved to England due to his father’s job as head gardener on a country house. He grew up playing djembe drums, and he cites gospel music as a big influence on his music.
• S1mba studied digital music production at New College in Swindon, England, where he recorded his 2018 single “The Plan.”
• “Rover” went viral in 2019 thanks to the #mulachallenge and earned S1mba a record deal with Parlophone. The single reached No. 3 on the UK charts, and it’s been streamed more than 150 million times.
