Rapper Rio Da Yung OG has earned breakout success with songs and videos depicting street reality in his hometown of Flint, Michigan.
• In his teens, the fledgling rapper recorded songs on a karaoke machine to play in the car.
• Rio Da Yung was the first artist officially signed to fellow Detroit rapper Peezy’s Ghetto Boyz label.
• His distinctive facial scar is the result of a grease burn. The accident happened when he tried to pan-fry potatoes after a night of partying.
• The rapper’s frantic 2019 single “Legendary” has more than 12 million streams.
