Artist Biography
Ryan Murgatroyd is a South African house producer whose smooth, propulsive dance tracks are influenced by the music of his country. Internationally, he first made an impact in 2007, when his single "Funk Country" received attention from BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong. During the same year, "Music Makes Me Feel" was released by Toolroom Trax. Murgatroyd formed Crazy White Boy with Konstantinos Karatamaglou in 2008, releasing several singles and a full-length via Soul Candi. Murgatroyd leaned toward electro-house with some of his solo productions around 2010, but with the release of 2013's "Bantwana's Piano," he began exploring South African influences. Several singles and EPs followed on Get Physical Music, and he compiled and mixed Africa Gets Physical, Vol. 1 (2017). ~ Paul Simpson
