About Ryan Corn
Artist Biography
A soulful singer/songwriter whose R&B-inflected folk-pop invokes names like John Mayer, Derek Webb, Jars of Clay, and Marc Broussard, Missouri native Ryan Corn spent his formative years glued to the radio, where he developed an appreciation for all types of music. A master carpenter as well as a talented songwriter, producer, and engineer, Corn's rural upbringing and faith play a large part in his songs, as does his easygoing nature and keen ear for melody. Corn issued an independent self-titled EP in 2010 before inking a deal with Curb Records after his song "Wonderful Things" took home the top prize in a radio contest. Corn's full-length studio debut for the label, Wonderful Things, arrived in 2014. He followed it with shows at events like Live in the Vineyard and South by Southwest, and new songs, including a cover of Dido's "White Flag." In early 2016, the musician relocated to Nashville and continued work on his sophomore LP with Grammy-winning engineer/mixer Vance Powell (Beck, Chris Stapleton, Jack White) and Dove Award-winning producer Ben Shive. ~ James Christopher Monger
