About Ruthven
Artist Biography
An R&B artist at heart, Ruthven is soul-steeped singer with fluid range from guttural to feathery, as well as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Affiliated with Jai Paul and A.K. Paul's Paul Institute label, the South London native debuted in 2017 with the modern synth funk jam "Evil," and over the course of the next several years scattered a handful of equally captivating singles while working deliberately toward his first album. In 2024, after he toured and collaborated with peer Sampha, he released Rough & Ready, a full-length blending contemporary soul and funk with art-pop and a dash of soft rock.
