As a kid, I listened to a Vivaldi cassette tape every night to fall asleep - after 2 years of begging my parents to learn violin, jump to my teacher making me hold out my hands every lesson to see if my nails were short enough to play. Feist, Pleasure The Shins, Wincing the Night Away Wilco, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Each of these represent a different time realized music could be whatever you want it to be - Each artist took a risk that paid off, from live recording to changing their sound, and it brought them to a new level. Also just...so many bangers.
