Alternative
A distinctive songwriter and musician with roots in California and Mexico, Rudy De Anda traffics in a breezy and cinematic psych-pop/rock style that draws from both cultures. De Anda issued his first solo effort, 2015's lo-fi Ostranenie, after having previously fronted psych-prog group Wild Pack of Canaries. Subsequent releases, Delay, Cadaver of a Day (2016), Tender Epoch (2020), and Closet Botanist (2023), saw De Anda increase the sonic fidelity of his songs, with the latter effort delivering the purest and most potent distillation of his '60s psych-pop sensibilities.
