Born Rowlene Nicole Bosman in 1997, Cape Town singer/songwriter Rowlene is known for her soothing vocals and confessional lyrics. Her musical journey kicked off when she joined her high school choir, which fostered a desire to pursue a singing career. Her 2015 debut single, “Imposter,” was a powerful cut about confronting a two-faced partner. Appearances on South African rapper Nasty C’s 2016 track “Phases” and 2018's impassioned “SMA” introduced Rowlene to a wider audience, and her emotive 2020 album, 11:11, earned the singer her first South African Music Awards nomination in the Best Pop Album category the following year. Rowlene entered living rooms across the world when her tracks “Cupid,” “Stay,” and “I Need You” (with Nasty C) were all featured on the soundtrack to Netflix’s 2020 original South African series Blood & Water.
