∙ His 1974 breakout LP, Pure Love, generated back-to-back hits with the title track and his take on Kris Kristofferson’s “Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends.”
∙ At the 1977 Country Music Association awards, Milsap won Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year (Ronnie Milsap Live).
∙ “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me” became his biggest crossover smash, topping the Country charts and hitting No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981.
∙ His mid-’80s nostalgic doo-wop ballad, “Lost in The Fifties Tonight,” was awarded the Academy of Country Music’s Song of the Year and earned two Grammy Awards.
