Talent took him to the next level, but Atlanta rapper Rico Richie first began meeting people involved in the music business thanks to a full-ride scholarship with Georgia Tech to play Division 1 college football. Born Reuben Houston, the popular former college star partnered with Atlanta DJ crew Street Republicans for his 2013 mixtape, From the Ashes. DJ X-Rated and DJ Outta Space hosted his 2014 Guilty by Association, then in 2015 he went major when DJ Drama presented "Poppin," a Richie single sourced from Drama's mixtape Quality Street Music 2. ~ David Jeffries
