In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My first CD purchases were inspired by a Leonardo DiCaprio questionnaire. I was about 10/11. He really liked Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band & Dark Side of The Moon. I thought that all albums henceforth would be as good as this. How wrong I was. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Blood Orange, Freetown Sound
David Bowie, Low (2017 Remaster)
The Smiths, The Queen Is Dead
The Queen Is Dead - Elegant satire for misfits. This was in short supply growing up.
Low - The best exercise in world-building I've ever heard. Bowie's experimental golden age, pre-synth pop.
Freetown Sound - Enigmatic, queer and soulful. Peak Dev.

“Midnight King”
I love this song because of its inspirations - Late-70s Robert Palmer, in his new wave era. Looping dry synths and a pained vocal. I tried to recreate that, but make it all about cruising. Why not? What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Touring with Molchat Doma. The Belarusian post-punk synth gods were so kind, and have supported my work ever since. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Compose something with Dev Hynes. A song, an album, an opera, a symphony. Anything.
