A product of Germany's Neue Deutsche Welle punk revival, Revolverheld formed in Hamburg in the summer of 2003. Originally dubbed Manga, the quintet soon toured as Revolverheld in support of acts including Donots, Silbermond, and Udo Lindenberg before signing to Sony BMG in early 2005. A string of European hits followed over the next decade, including "Freunde Bleiben," which was selected to represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, and culminating in the career-spanning live album MTV Unplugged in Drei Akten in 2015. ~ Jason Ankeny & Marcy Donelson
