In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember my first piano teacher, who was a great jazz pianist, asking me to improvise for the first time. I cried because I was afraid to make a mistake!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Radiohead, Amnesiac Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66, Equinox Van Morrison, Astral Weeks Two of these albums are from the '60s. I grew up in the 90s, but I loved artists from the '60s. There was so much fusion going on, I loved how jazz and folk started to intersect. I also love Radiohead. Their music works so well in album format.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gioventù” This piece makes me feel the optimism of my youth, hence the name. I am proud of this composition as I think it is one of my most cinematic. I could definitely see it paired well with a film montage or something.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I accidentally composed one of my newest pieces (not released yet) by improvising in several layers. It was a really happy surprise that it came out well!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would LOVE to play some live concerts in Italy and Northern Europe, perhaps opening for Olivia Belli, Hania Rani, Agnes Obel, etc.
