Fronted by the mercurial Johnny Borrell, Razorlight is a post-punk-influenced rock band that took the UK by storm in the mid-2000s.
∙ Borrell formed Razorlight in 2002, looking to expand his sound after playing the London indie circuit as a solo acoustic act and sharing bills with the likes of The Libertines.
∙ Fueled by the success of such singles as “Golden Touch,” the band’s 2004 debut album, Up All Night, reached No. 3 on the UK charts.
∙ Razorlight’s self-titled 2006 follow-up debuted at No. 1 on the UK charts and also produced their first No. 1 single, “America.”
∙ In 2007, the band was nominated for two BRIT Awards, one for best British Group and the other for British Single of the Year (“America”).
Members of Razorlight include, or have included, Johnny Borrell and Andy Burrows.
