In his extensive career, Swedish DJ and producer Raaban has explored the spectrum of dance music, be it lush house or explosive, synth-heavy EDM dance-floor packers. Born Robbin Söderlund in Borås in 1987, Raaban started out as a bedroom engineer who taught himself how to make beats using FL Studio as a teenager before becoming part of Swedish Eurodance band Laser Inc, known for their 2007 single “Det Var en Vång en Fågel.” Between 2015 and 2019, Raaban was one-half of the duo Tungevaag & Raaban alongside like-minded Norwegian DJ/producer Martin Tungevaag. Their breakout single, “Samsara,” married EDM with pop vocals, a style Raaban has maintained throughout the different phases of his career. His appreciation for pop has led to him remixing artists such as BUNT., whose “Take Me Home” took on a glossy sheen thanks to the producer’s deft technique.
