Cwmbran, South Wales covers band Punk Rock Factory take beloved musical numbers, theme songs, and well-known pop songs and retool them into high-energy punk covers. They're prolific, but the releases that stand out center around Disney songs, specifically on A Whole New Wurst 1 & 2.
Formed in 2014, they were initially uploading tracks online, where they took off due to the viral nature of the music. This quickly turned into an efficient operation -- they churned out music from their own studio, the Sausage Factory, before releasing it on various social media platforms. Their debut album, 2019's The Wurst Is Yet to Come, featured a mix of covers with no specific theme. That changed on their second album, A Whole New Wurst, which focused on Disney songs. They pivoted toward classic children's TV theme songs on their third record, Masters of the Uniwurst, and then pop-punk covers on Scene This?, both of which were released in 2021. They took on musical numbers for their sixth album, 2023's It's Just a Stage We're Going Through. After extensive touring they returned to the Sausage Factory to record 2025's All Hands on Deck, which focused solely on '90s hits.
