Formed in 1981 by singer Ronnie Atkins and guitarist Ken Hammer, Danish hard rock band the Pretty Maids have undergone many lineup changes over the years, while retaining the duo of Atkins and Hammer at the group's core. The band's self-titled debut EP arrived on the Bullet label in 1983, followed by 1984's Red, Hot and Heavy on CBS. The Pretty Maids resurfaced with Future World in 1987. After 1990's Jump the Gun (delayed due to the drummer's car crash injury), Atkins and Hammer plus new bassist Kenn Jackson and drummer Michael Fast cut 1992's Sin-Decade, scoring a hit with the single "Please Don't Leave Me." Subsequent albums included 1993's Stripped, 1994's Scream, 1995's Screamin' Live, 1997's Spooked, 2002's Planet Panic, 2010's Pandemonium, and 2013's Motherland. ~ Jason Ankeny
