In 2012, longtime Echo & the Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant and one-time Bunnymen bassist Les Pattinson decided to start a band devoted to playing instrumental rock pitched between "krautrock and prog rock," and then give it a modern psychedelic twist.
Named Poltergeist and also featuring the current Bunnymen drummer Nick Kilroe, the band began recording soon after forming, while also playing shows in between Bunnymen commitments. The trio's first album, Your Mind Is a Box (Let Us Fill It with Wonder), was released in March of 2013. ~ Tim Sendra
