Peter Sommer is a celebrated Dutch singer and songwriter whose clever melodies are paired with lyrics full of wordplay reflecting his love of the mechanics of the Danish language. After rising to fame in the 2000s with the group SuperJeg, he struck out on his own with 2004's På Den Anden Side, an exercise in cool, understated indie rock. With 2006's Destruktive Vokaler and 2008's Til Rotterne, Til Kragerne, Til Hundene, Sommer became one of the most acclaimed artists on the Dutch music scene, and 2022's De Uforelskede I København (and its orchestral companion album, De Uforelskede I Copenhagen Philharmonic) showed off the the growing sophistication of his songcraft and his musical outlook.
