About Peter Criss
Artist Biography
Perhaps the most versatile and gifted musician in Kiss, drummer Peter "The Cat" Criss surprised the world with his 1978 solo offering that added jazz and lighter ballads into the hard rock mix. When he left the band two years later, his follow-up albums were also similarly influenced by jazz and pop, and proved to be a real departure from his previous work with Kiss. Criss remained quiet for much of the 80s, but returned to the studio in the early '90s to record his fourth solo album. The following year he rejoined Kiss and stayed with the reunited band until 2001. He returned to the line-up again at the end of '02, this time staying with the band until the start of '04.
