Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. 1982 at Central City Mall, Mom and I saw two groups of guys coming from opposite sides of the parking lot. Mom thought “they’re going to fight” but they played break beats and started breaking and pop locking. I fell in love with Hiphop that day
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Portishead, Dummy Sade, The Best of Sade (Remaster) Tricky, Maxinquaye I credit Sade for my writing style-Short in words, poetic, and calm. Portishead’s Dummy was a mind blowing experience when I first heard that album, the engineering is superb. Tricky’s Maxinquaye introduced me to dark sensuality that felt cinematic

Tell us why you chose this song. “Newport Beach” I wrote this song in the early morning hours sitting on the lifeguard deck transcribing the words flowing from mind to the notes section on my Old generic phone. Took years to finally record it I can vividly remember that early early 3am Sunday.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing my daughter put my songs on her playlist is an emotional charge for me. Other than that…the highlight of my career is when I performed in a small swanky DTLA joint in front of 300 sweaty jumping with hands up folk
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My bucket list: tour the world, work with Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, J.Robb, Kanye West, Jay Z, J. Cole, Timbaland, Dwele, Dornik, DJ Premier, win a Grammy, rock a stadium
