In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I fell in love with Freddie Mercury at the age of 7 after watching the video for Crazy Little Thing Called Love. His attitude was so liberating to me as a child and showed me the possibility of self-empowerment and expression with music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Alice Coltrane, Journey in Satchidananda
Björk, Homogenic
Kate Bush, Hounds of Love (2018 Remaster)
I have adored these albums from when I was little, and still love them just as much today. They are all so very original and experimental - and inspired me to make my own music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Sleep”
Sleep is about summoning the strength to say goodbye to loved ones, acknowledging impending grief - whilst also ridding ourselves of the cycles of abuse stemming from patriarchal powers. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Collaborating on a reinterpretation of Penelope Three with the London Contemporary Orchestra at Southbank Centre in London. We had only one day to rehearse, but we quickly became a special team creating a n extraordinary live communal meditation. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
