The spare but not bare indie-folk sound of singer/songwriter Truman Sinclair might be a surprise to anyone who knows his past. After finding cult success in the Los Angeles scene as the frontman of emo band Frat Mouse, Sinclair was inspired by the state of the world (and a long stretch of personal soul-searching) that coalesced into a new body of solo work, including the 2024 EP Pale Moon Pale Horse and 2025’s full-length debut, American Recordings.
