Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Paper Route stands in sharp contrast to the city’s predominant country scene with its electro-tinged alternative-rock sound. Given its knack for sweeping keyboard-heavy anthems (see “You Kill Me”), the group often recalls a more IDM-oriented Coldplay or Snow Patrol. After two well-received EPs, most notably 2008’s ARE WE ALL FORGOTTEN, the band, fronted by singer/guitarist Andy Smith, unveiled its first full-length album, ABSENCE, in ’09.
