About Pabllo Vittar
Artist Biography
Pabllo Vittar, born Phabullo Rodrigues da Silva in 1993 on the island of São Luís to the north, is a superstar, drag queen, singer -songwriter, and dauntless advocate for LGBTQ rights. There’s a touch of camp in her act—she broke out with a version of Major Lazer’s “Lean On” titled “Open Bar”—but it’s the finest kind. Her gift is taking drag, Brazilian pop culture (tecnobrega, Portuguese covers of English songs with little lyrical connection to the original), and everything that makes her who she is to new places. “Sua Cara,” her collaboration with Major Lazer and Anitta, and a Coachella appearance, where she and Rina Sawayama made history on stage with their song “Follow Me,” are highlights. Vittar performs with a spine-tingling countertenor, bops for days, and the ability to seemingly leave her whole heart in every song.
