A leading candidate for the argument that popular music is post-genre, Ollie Joseph's eclectic discography has spanned from quickfire verses over trap beats to rhythmic country sung in a raspy twang -- all part of a continuum he's dubbed "mountain pop." While it's not entirely known how he got to his particular thesis, it might have to do with his multi-destination upbringing: he was born in Japan, but raised between Florida and Michigan before settling in Los Angeles, California.
