About Oh, Hush!
Artist Biography
Oh, Hush! is the recording moniker of prolific Los Angeles-based producer and recording artist Chris Sernel. Since first appearing as Oh, Hush! in 2007, Sernel has kept a low profile in terms of publicity, eschewing press, interviews, live performances, and even photos, and instead letting his bright, boisterous productions speak for themselves. As an artist, his mix of carefree alt-pop and vibrant electronic beats has manifested itself over numerous singles, several EPs, and a 2008 LP called The Yellow Album. Sernel has shown a particular fondness for holiday music, releasing three different Christmas EPs covering both traditional fare and pop classics like "Christmas Vacation," all arranged in a buoyant pop-punk style. As a producer and songwriter, Oh, Hush! has worked with a wide variety of notable artists, from CCM acts like Group 1 Crew to mainstream artists like Weezer and Cee Lo Green, the latter of whom helped Sernel earn a Grammy nomination for 2010's "What Part of Forever." In addition to placing his songs in a wide range of movies, television shows, and advertisements, Sernel became active composing for film as well, writing and recording songs for the soundtracks to The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie in 2017. ~ Timothy Monger
