Artist Biography
Grandson of soul legend Solomon Burke, the producer/MC/songwriter known as Novel has built his reputation within the music industry, writing and producing for a wide range of hip-hop and R&B artists. Originally signed to Rawkus Records, Novel first appeared in 2002 with “They Don’t Flow” on SOUNDBOMBING III. He has produced and co-written songs for such varied artists as Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Tweet, and Lionel Ritchie. Signed to Dallas Austin’s Rowdy imprint, Novel released his debut solo EP I AM…(FUTURE BLACK PRESIDENT) in late 2008.
