About Nomo
One of the standout acts on San Francisco’s soul-oriented Ubiquity label, NOMO take their cues from the unruly, eclectic output of early 1970s funk groups like War and Mandrill. Though NOMO began as a student project, their three releases, from the sprawling, avant-jazz-leavened rhythms of their self-released debut to the melting pot world-beat of 2008’s GHOST ROCK, have seen them develop into a formidable and eminently professional ensemble.
