About Nissy
Artist Biography
Though he’s best known as a member of the chart-topping Japanese pop group AAA, Nissy has garnered acclaim for his solo work as both a singer and actor.
∙ Born Takahiro Nishijima, he’s been one of AAA’s lead singers since the group was first assembled in 2005.
∙ After landing his first TV acting role in the 2007 drama Delicious Gakuin, he quickly moved into film, winning accolades for his work in 2008’s Love Exposure.
∙ In 2014, Nissy began his first run of solo singles with “Dousiyouka” and followed them up with a full-length album, Hocus Pocus, in 2016.
∙ The clip for “Playing With Fire,” the lead track from Hocus Pocus, was named Best Pop Video at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Japan.
∙ Released as singles in 2016, “Happening” and the Gold-certified “Madakimihashiranai My Prettiest Girl” were Nissy’s first solo records to hit the Top 10 of the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
∙ Nissy Entertainment 5th Anniversary BEST, a 2019 compilation of his most popular material, went to No. 1 on the Japanese charts and was certified Gold.
