Twin sisters who celebrate their contrasting personalities and styles, Niki & Gabi built a following with their teen-lifestyle video channel before releasing their own atmospheric pop music. Their debut EP, Individual, saw release in 2018.
Niki and Gabi DeMartino had already been posting song parodies and other humor-related videos for a few years before they launched a beauty-focused YouTube channel as high schoolers in Pennsylvania in 2012. A response to the most common types of questions they were receiving about their earlier videos, it began with a hairstyle tutorial. Over the next few years, they covered topics including makeup testing, fashion recommendations, and dating tips as well as posting prank videos and sharing more serious life lessons. They uploaded an original song, a ballad titled "It," in 2015. Their official debut single, "First," followed in 2017. In the meantime, the pair's subscription base had expanded into the millions. By then in their early twenties, Niki & Gabi released the EP Individual, a set of earnest pop, in 2018. It reached number 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. ~ Marcy Donelson
