Hip-hop duo Nik & Jay from Værløse are Denmark's primary rap music proponents. Though latecomers to the European hip-hop table, Denmark's rap scene boasted huge audiences by the year 2002, when Nik & Jay arrived on the scene with their self-titled debut record. The sharply dressed bad boys preferred old-school themes laden with superficial party content. Nik & Jay focused on money, women, and the good life, rather than gangster identity or political messages.
