The aptly named DCX Nightcore is the "nightcore" offshoot of Finnish Euro-dance group DCX. DCX formed in 1997 as the primary project between producer Joel Kalsi and singer Bettina Hammarsten (who participated in the Finnish versions of both Idol and The Voice), following the sounds of similarly bright dance acts like Darude and September. Along with collaborators Olli Lintuniemi and Ari Myllymaki, Kalsi and Hammarsten are best known for their DCX hit "Flying High." Their first release for the DCX Nightcore project arrived in 2014 with The Secret Archives, a high-octane collection of remixed DCX tracks. In 2015, they issued Speed Mixes, Sampled Stories, and the second installment of The Secret Archives. The Secret Archives, Vol. 3 appeared in 2016, along with Eurodance, an EP of full-throttle remixes of the DCX release of the same name. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
