In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My parents had a Gospel band called DJ & Lisa and Friends. They would perform at churches and lounges, and I used to sit in on their rehearsals. I even filled in from time to time on drums at a young age.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Commissioned, The Commissioned Reunion - "Live" D'Angelo, Voodoo Raphael Saadiq, Instant Vintage "The Commissioned Reunion" laid a solid musical foundation for me as a kid. "Voodoo" changed my life and the trajectory of my career. "Instant Vintage" is such a classic record and it shifted my mind and ears towards a woozier R&B/Soul sound.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I recorded my first live album in the spring of 2023. It's been a dream of mine to record one, and it turned out amazing.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to be nominated for a Grammy and a Soul Train Award, and I want to perform at the Apollo Theater.
