Formed in 2014, the Japanese band never young beach is known for their mix of J-rock aesthetics and surf instrumentation, and they’ve sold-out tours and international festival appearances.
∙ Their first two LPs—2015’s Yashinoki House and 2016’s Fam Fam—were both nominated for the annual CD Shop Awards by record store clerks throughout Japan.
∙ In 2017, the single “Surely” became the band’s breakout radio hit, entering the Top 40 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
∙ AKG Tribute—the 2017 multi-artist LP celebrating the 20th anniversary of alt-rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation—included never young beach’s take on the Gold-selling hit “To Your Town.”
∙ The band contributed the theme song to the feature-length animated movie Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop in 2020.
