Artist Biography
A rapper and actor whose music confidently explores both the personal and the political, Nekfeu is one of the biggest stars in modern French hip-hop.
∙ Before breaking out on his own, he was a part of several hip-hop groups and collectives, including S-Crew, 1995, and L’Entourage.
∙ Nekfeu’s 2015 debut solo LP, Feu, went to No. 3 in France and was named Urban Album of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique (the French equivalent of the Grammys).
∙ For his 2016 sophomore album, Cyborg, he invited jazz veteran Archie Shepp to play saxophone on two tracks.
∙ He made his acting debut in the 2017 film All That Divides Us, starring alongside screen icon Catherine Deneuve.
∙ Released as both an album and a full-length documentary (directed by Nekefu himself), 2019’s Les Étoiles Vagabondes spawned several hit singles and went to No. 1 on the French charts.
∙ His catalog includes a diverse array of all-star collaborations with such artists as Ed Sheeran, Vanessa Paradis, and Dizzee Rascal.
