Artist Biography
New Zealand's Navvy is an emotive singer/songwriter with intimate, electro-acoustic approach to pop. In 2019, she drew favorable comparisons to artists like Robyn and Sia for her debut EP, The Breakup.
Born Phoebe Lee Jasper, Navvy grew up in Auckland, where she became interested in performing from a young age, taking classical lessons, singing opera, and acting in musical theater. It was while studying songwriting and performance at the University of Auckland that she started writing her own pop songs. Around the same time, she gained valuable experience playing keyboards with other groups including Paprika Jones and singer Thomston. All the while, she continued to record her own music, working closely with songwriter/producer Josh Naley, aka Wells*. In 2019, Navvy released her debut EP, The Breakup, which included the singles "Subliminal" and "If I Can't Have You." ~ Matt Collar
