Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Márcio da Costa Batista is a pagode and samba singer and actor better known by his family nickname, Mumuzinho. Cheerful and charismatic, Mumuzinho has become one of the most beloved romantic pagode performers of his generation, a samba subgenre characterized by its swaying rhythms, sentimental lyrics, catchy melodies, and mixture of traditional instrumentation with electronic keyboards. Mumuzinho has released dozens of albums, most of them recorded live (albeit typically featuring a mix of hits, new songs, and medleys), such as A Voz Do Meu Samba Ao Vivo (2018), and studio offerings like Fala Meu Nome Aí, which included his biggest hit, "Fulminante." Resenha Do Mumu (2022) earned the singer his first Latin Grammy nomination in the Best Samba/Pagode Album category. Recorded live in São Paolo, the DVD/CD Conectado (2025) found Mumuzinho celebrating 15 years on-stage in the company of friends and colleagues.
