∙ His piano can be heard on Gary Jules’ cover of the Tears for Fears song “Mad World,” featured on the Donnie Darko soundtrack.
∙ His 2012 solo album, Spilling a Rainbow, was inspired by his becoming a parent for the first time.
∙ He used a modified Casio keyboard purchased at a garage sale and a musical calculator, among other misfit instruments, to create the acclaimed score for the indie-smash film Me and You and Everyone We Know.
∙ Andrews collaborated with Nosaj Thing and Emile Haynie for the soundtrack of the Pete Davidson-starring movie The King of Staten Island.
