Since their 1999 debut, Mayday have established themselves as a mainstay of Mandarin rock. The Taiwanese five-piece started off as an indie group, setting themselves apart with lead vocalist Ashin’s textured, high-voltage vocals and energetic, emotive songs that feature relatable slice-of-life perspectives. From sweet pop-rock like “私奔到月球 (Elope to the Moon)” to aching rock ballads like “突然好想你 (Suddenly Missing You So Bad)”, Mayday and their plethora of golden melodies delight with each release, continually attracting new fans to their already staggering following.
