Following a brief run paying his dues on the Minnesota coffee house scene and cutting a self-produced debut album, Pittsburgh-raised singer-songwriter Mason Jennings released BIRDS FLYING AWAY with the assistance of Bar/None in 2000. Cut from the same musical and stylistic cloth as the Gopher State's most famous troubadour, Jennings writes simple, immediate folk-based tunes about the rambling life, often infusing his songs with a strong political bent. In 2005, Jennings signed to Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock's major label subsidiary, Glacial Pace.
