Artist Biography
Masego is a Jamaican American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose wide-ranging style blends R&B and soul with jazz, trap, and house music.
∙ With idols ranging from Cab Calloway to Andre 3000, he taught himself saxophone, drums, and piano early in life, then attended university before focusing on his music.
∙ In 2016, he released The Pink Polo EP, a collaboration with Texas-based producer Medasin that featured the popular streaming single “Girls That Dance.”
∙ “Tadow”—his 2017 single with French musician FKJ, whose viral video showed them live-looping the song’s instruments—rose to No. 19 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in 2020.
∙ The title track of Masego’s 2018 debut album, Lady Lady, was helmed by the Grammy-winning producer Sounwave (Kendrick Lamar).
