About MARÍA TOLEDO
Artist Biography
María Toledo is a flamenco singer, songwriter, and pianist trained at the Conservatorio de Toledo. The recipient of many academic honors, Toledo has been performing in public since childhood and has appeared in numerous flamenco festivals and shows. Her eponymous 2009 debut was hailed as one of the year's best releases by a new artist. Its 2012 follow-up, Uñas Rojas, boasted an impressive list of contributors, including multiple Grammy-winning producer Óscar Gómez and singers Miguel Poveda and Antonio Serrano. Toledo returned to a more traditional brand of flamenco with 2015's ConSentido. Barely a year later she presented the intriguing Mágnetica, inspired by the sound of the Hammond organ. ~ Mariano Prunes
