Named by talented composer Armando Manzanero as "La Mujer Que Nació Para Cantar" (the Woman Who Was Born to Sing), Manoella Torres started getting radio play in the 1970s with a romantic and sensual song called "Acariciame." Captivated by the Latin-style bolero, the New York-born and Puerto Rican descendant artist became popular in Mexico, developing a successful career during more than three decades. After issuing a tribute to Javier Solis called De La Tierra...Al Cielo, Sonia Rivas produced her compilation of greatest hits, entitled Te Amo (I Love You). ~ Drago Bonacich
