Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I would use chopsticks to 'conduct' along to Beethoven symphonies. I would place a chair in the middle of the family living room and wave my arms around while standing on top of it, pretending to be in front of the orchestra.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aphex Twin, Drukqs Reprazent, Roni Size, New Forms (20th Anniversary Edition) Shem Guibbory, Steve Reich Ensemble, Steve Reich: Octet - Music for a Large Ensemble - Violin Phase These albums all had a major impact on me before adulthood. They are early influences that have engrained themselves into my psyche and vocabulary as a musician and composer.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Stumbling” I love this track because it is the largest in scope on the album. It traverses broad territory and I'd like to think it develops themes in a unique way.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I got to play a show opening for Chicago-born instrumental pioneers Tortoise. I have loved their music since my early teenage years and they had a massive influence on my own work. My younger self would probably never have believed it.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to write the perfect track. It is an impossible bucket list item but it keeps me creating new music.
