In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father Miguel Angel Serrano would play music for me. So I started singing everything he would play, I would also try to imitate every artist. I spent my summers in NYC working with my father in his Deli in the Bronx, NY listening to music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 2Pac, The Best of 2Pac, Pt. 1: Thug Adekunle Gold, Catch Me If You Can Luis Miguel Serrano, Serra, Vol. 2 Afrobeats, HipHop and Electronic Dance Music have huge influences in my style of production and music. Adekunle Gold, Davido, Wizkid, Tupac Shakur, Avicci, and J Cole all of these artist inspire me daily to be a better person and grow as an artist.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Special Woman” My favorite song right now is Special Woman. I wrote it for my wife. I love her energy and her optimistic attitude towards everything. One day I was making an Afro-beat instrumental and I freestyle the words to Special Woman, and I just fell in love.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most memorable moment is working as an Audio engineer in the Apollo Theater in Harlem NYC. I got to learn a lot from the team at the Apollo Theater and they motivate me to chase my dreams and become a better person and artist.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to make music with Wizkid, Davido, Omah Lay, Adekunle Gold, Asake, Wande Coal and many other big names in Afrobeats. As an Afrolatino I want to be the first Dominican to do it.
