Born Laura Pergolizzi, LP is an alternative singer-songwriter with a distinctly unique tone that sets her apart in the crowded indie scene.
∙ Launching her career as a songwriter in the early 2000s, LP has written hits for major artists, including Rihanna’s “Cheers (Drink to That)” (2010) and Joe Walsh’s “Hi-Roller Baby” (2012).
∙ In her first network TV appearance, LP performed the title track off her major debut, Into the Wild (Live at EastWest Studios), on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2012.
∙ LP’s first album to enter the Billboard 200 was 2014’s Forever For Now, which also shot to No. 2 on the Heatseeker chart.
∙ The 2015 hit single “Lost on You” sparked LP’s international success, topping the charts in Italy, France, and Switzerland, while earning Platinum certification in four countries.
∙ “Muddy Waters” was her first single to crack Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, after it was spotlighted on the 2016 season finale of the series Orange Is the New Black.
