As one of tropical house’s early key figures in the mid-2010s, Lost Frequencies took the genre’s sun-kissed sound worldwide via balmy dance grooves, pop melodies, and feel-good songwriting. In the process, the Belgian producer (born Felix De Laet in 1993) helped usher in a new, more relaxed wave of crossover pop-EDM. After starting out making bootleg remixes, he instantly broke out with his 2014 debut single “Are You with Me” (a flip of an Easton Corbin song), which topped international charts and marked the UK’s first No. 1 by a Belgian artist. He earned similar success with 2021’s “Where Are You Now” with Calum Scott, becoming the first Belgian artist to surpass one billion streams on a single song. Alongside early hits like “Reality” and “Beautiful Life,” Lost Frequencies’ sound has expanded, incorporating styles from country to slap house while maintaining the summery vibe that initially drew so many to his party.
Lost Frequencies has also released music as a member of Two Pauz.
